Nokia c3 Game Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
The life of an exchange student is not without its problems. There are the usual language and cultural barriers to overcome, not to mention being thousands of miles from everyone you know and love. Of course, it has its perks too – there's the sense of adventure, of experiencing something new. Not to mention being thousands of miles from everyone you know and hate.Soma Cruz, the protagonist of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, certainly becomes embroiled in an adventure during his exchange visit to Japan. No sooner has he found his dormitory, put up his Che Guevara poster and lined his stomach in preparation for Freshers Week when he's whisked off on a mission to vanquish the reincarnation of Dracula.
Well, we've all been there.
At first glance Aria of Sorrow resembles nothing more than a fairly average action-platform game, with pretty basic combat and movement controls – walk up to an enemy (be it a zombie, bat or armoured guard) and press fire repeatedly. But as any fan of the Castlevania series will attest, there's far more here than initially meets the eye.

In keeping with its heritage Aria of Sorrow is a relatively freeform adventure set in a sprawling, multi-tiered castle. How the developer's managed to cram such a thing into 405KB of mobile phone memory is something that will keep us pondering for quite some time.
As you progress through the surprisingly varied architecture of the castle you acquire new abilities, which allow you to access areas that were previously off-limits. Take, for example, one of the first such abilities you acquire: Flying Armour. This enables you to extend the length of your jumps, which in turn permit you to cross that unbridgeable gap that you encountered earlier. In this way Dracula's castle – and indeed the game as a whole – gradually opens up to you. It really is quite empowering.
Furthering this sense of empowerment is the game's RPG element. As you defeat enemies in battle you gain experience points, which eventually cause you to level-up in eight core areas such as attack and defense. In real terms, it means that you become a more effective fighter as you progress through the game.

Nokia c3 game Chocolate Shop Frenzy
You would have thought that the advent of the credit crunch would have cut our spending on confectionery right down, wouldn't you? Surely, working in a chocolate boutique or candy store right now would be pretty easy work - employees piling on the pounds as they snack on all the treats left on the un-bought treats.
Whether that's the case or not I've no idea, but its clear the boys and girls at Sumea believe there's life in the house that cocoa built yet, with Chocolate Shop Frenzy delivering exactly what its title suggests: a chocolate store awash with customers, each demanding their own box of milky heaven. Your average American coffee house has nothing on this - Frenzy will teach you just how to cope with the whim of every customer that storms through your door.
As with games such as Diner Dash and Cake Mania, Chocolate Shop Frenzy is all about quickly serving customers, sorting and delivering a rash of different orders as impatient folk stand and stare. As customers appear at your counter, it's up to you to take their orders, pick up their chocolates, wrap them (if they so please) and deliver them back to the counter before they get fed up and leave. It's a standard concept, but Frenzy is the kind of game that constantly puts hurdles in your path just to complicate issues a little.
For instance, beyond the opening rounds it's very rare that you'll ever deal with just one customer at a time. Instead, people tend to come in packs of four, with orders also turning up via phone just to add to your workload. While you might think that a 'first come, first serve' mantra would serve you well, any sense of routine is tossed out the window as soon as different kinds of customers begin to turn up at your store; old grannies are perfectly happy to wait a little longer than your average customer, as opposed to businessmen, who quickly get impatient while yabbering away on their mobile phones.

Nokia c3 Game The Guitar Hero III
The Guitar Hero III Mobile is a chartbuster in the gaming scenario in the US. Hands-On Mobile, Inc. announced that the mobile game was a bestseller in the US on Verizon Wireless’ mobiles in the first quarter of 2008.
A record of 1 million downloads including monthly subscriptions has been reported across all wireless service providers although initially the mobile was exclusively launched on Verizon Wireless’ phones. Guitar Hero III Mobile has been reported to be one of the highest and fastest selling games.
“Verizon Wireless customers have shown a tremendous appetite for mobile games – the category is an important part of our strategy to increase data revenue, and marquee titles such as Guitar Hero III help create demand and engage our customers in mobile gameplay,” said Ryan Hughes, vice president of digital media programming for Verizon.
An amazing 2,50,000 songs are played everyday by the game subscribers and the most popular songs happen to be ‘Slow Ride’ (re-record), ‘Mississippi Queen’ (re-record) and ‘Black Magic Woman’ (re-record).
“Fans of the Guitar Hero console games have been very impressed with the title’s translation onto BREW handsets,” said David White, chief executive officer of Hands-On Mobile. “Guitar Hero III Mobile has opened the eyes of a whole new group of consumers to the world of mobile games.”

Nokia C3 Game Build-a-lot
“Build-a-lot” was one of 2007’s most critically and commercially successful online casual games. The Game allows players to tackle the housing market by renovating and selling houses in a variety of neighborhoods. “Build-a-lot” was named “Action/Arcade Game of the Year” by Big Fish Games, “Strategy Game of the Year” by RealArcade, and was nominated for the 2008 Interactive Achievement Awards for “Downloadable Game of the Year.”
Build-a-lot for mobiles will offer players the chance to be successful in a competitive housing market - renovate, rent and sell houses in order to win as much cash as possible and become a wealthy businessman or businesswoman. So what we have here is some sort of Tycoon, but only with houses.

Nokia c3 Game Simcity Deluxe
This is done by zoning areas of land for housing, commercial buildings and industry, as well as building publicamenities like roads and hospitals for your resident sims.As the city grows larger so the demands for jobs and housing increase, and the building of public services - not to mention your budget - requires clever management skills to keep everything ticking over.
Taking control of city hall
It sounds overwhelming but it’s a fairly smooth ride due to the large amount of advice dolled out by your friendly advisor lady who pops up on screen at regular intervals.

It doesn’t take very long to get into the swing of things, helped by controls that are logically laid out, with everything easily accessed through the various menus.
I did occasionally wish there was a way of assigning particular buildings to shortcuts, especially when it came to extended road building, but as the game pauses for placing new structures it didn’t end up affecting gameplay to a serious degree.
Along with the controls, EA Mobile has also done a good job of keeping the screen relatively clutter-free, with very little extraneous information obscuring the view of your city.
This gives you a good appreciation of the improved graphics, which posses a decent variety between the various different zones and a high level of incidental detail like smog clouds and traffic build-ups.

Nokia c3 Game ANNO: Create a New World
The game places you in the role of one of a King's two sons. Your sibling seems intent on using his sword to expand his father's empire, while your character is more of a fan of furthering your society through invention and progression, as boring as that sounds.
In terms of gameplay, this basically means taking over barren islands and developing them so that they're fit to join your kingdom.
This initially means building basic houses for your adventurers to live in, but as play moves forward your goals become a little more complex, the idea being to up the class of the population and tempt natives into joining your fold.
Fight for this love
There are two ways of tackling this challenge, each one dependent on just how much hand holding you either need, or can endure. Story mode simply plonks you on your first island and talks you through your goals, with tips as to how to move things forward weaved into play.
As well as building lumberjack yards to provide wood and bakeries to feed your folk, for instance, your civilisation also thrives on culture. Churches and theatres become essential staples of your society, making your population happy and enabling you to leach more taxes from them.
But whether you take on this guided tour or play the Free Play mode, which comes with the same long-term goals but lets you play as you please, ANNO: Create a New World comes with a very strict rule-set that focuses on keeping a balance.
That's not unusual for a strategy sim, but this is a game particularly unwilling to let you throw out the rule book.
God hand
In this respect, the ability to hold back your desire to get ahead of yourself is crucial to any success you might have.
Everything you do saps your gold, and while the idea is to reap it all back in taxes, attempting to build beyond your community's means quickly drains your reserves, tipping the scales and making it especially hard to regroup once things have gone awry.
This is less of an issue in Story mode, which restricts just what you can build until its determined that you're ready, but in free play, even demolishing the offending amenities or halting their production can fail to reset the balance.
Taxing your population too highly to try and recoup your finances halts your progression and essentially puts the whole game on pause.
ANNO: Create a New World also doesn't make it clear just what you should be doing when its 'events' - mini calamities that almost act as plot points breaking up play - start to hit. It's at this point that ANNObecomes even less forgiving, one false move essentially making your society bankrupt. This doesn't make it a poor game by any stretch, but it does make it the sole province of those who have tackled many a God sim before. ANNO'sSim City-meets-Civilization gameplay provides few sweet spots for newcomers or casual gamers, but lays on a stern challenge for any celestial beings in the making.

Nokia c3 Game The sim3 world adventure
Once, video games never received updates, but these days we pretty much expect them. Half a dozen every time you switch on your iPhone, and five minutes of downloading whenever you put a new Xbox 360 game in.
But the mobile platform is pretty much stuck with whatever game is initially released, and while it's good that companies aren't releasing unfinished games like they do on the App Store, it also means that minor upgrades to an existing game - like The Sims 3 - means a whole new purchase.
Same Sims, different world
The third game in the series seemed to come and go, but it was very well received on pretty much all platforms thanks to its distinctly gamey feel - and that includes mobile. It broke away from simulation and brought light relief through arcade, adventure, and RPG mechanics. This new version is very much built on that same system, which works particularly well on handheld platforms where building mansions and carrying out lifestyle management duties are more of a chore.
Only now your Sim is quite the jet setter, with his goals focused around journeys to far distant shores.
An airport has been added to the town, which serves as a gateway to the world. The adage "it's a small world" is particularly relevant, however. After creating your Simand building their psychological profile (a mean spirited psychopath with a good sense of humour, for instance) the usual goals and random life events are offered up at intervals - interspersed with the usual cleaning, feeding, grooming and social management duties.
It's a very small world
You're now required to make a Chinese person laugh, excavate treasure in Egypt, or fall in love with someone French. Trips around the globe are surprisingly affordable, and only take a few moments of your time, so it's easy enough to nip to China and be home in time for tea and medals.
Too easy, in fact. Each country is smaller than your Sim's house, with a few stereotyped artefacts littering the place to really drive home which country you're in (a Pharaoh's sarcophagus poking out of the sand that covers all of Egypt, for example).

A few very basic mini-games are used to represent the goals that come your way, but nothing that adds any depth to the overall game.
The remainder of play boils down to point and click mechanics as you attempt to meet the strange challenges a Sim faces in everyday life, which loses much of its charm now that the locations dotted around town have been replaced by semi-offensive trivialisations of real world cultures.
It's very hard to justify The Sims 3: World Adventures, as it's nothing more than the exact same game with a few graphics swapped out (and not that many) and goals involving a quick jaunt to the other side of the world before coming home in the afternoon for tea and medals.
At least the original game placed you in a living, breathing community of Sims, upon whom you enacted your strange, devious, loving or friendly ways. That community gameplay is gone in World Adventures, and this leaves a significant gap.

Nokia c3 Game Worms Forts
We adore innovation at Pocket Gamer; we revel in clever ideas and new ways of playing games and we even award all of our games an innovation score. However, even we believe that there are times when you have to hold to the adage if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Take the wheel for instance. Okay, so it’s evolved a little since the first rounded stone rolled off the production lines, but the fundamentals of a rounded object attached to some sort of axle has endured relatively well over the years without anyone feeling the need to suggest that ‘maybe a flattened edge would be worth a go’.
Though perhaps less influential in the progress of mankind, in the realm of video games Worms has proven to have similarly sound fundamentals. The essential experience of controlling miniature pink characters, who take it in turns to fire increasingly ludicrous high-calibre weaponry at each other until there’s only one left standing, has endured virtually unchanged for many years. So why on earth would you muck around with it and risk breaking the whole thing?
That’s exactly the question you’ll find yourself asking after the first few minutes of playing Worms Forts 3D. Whilst at first sight it's undeniably appealing (the 2D worms are fantastically animated, the 3D levels and backgrounds superb), and there’s immediate familiarity in the form of two teams of pink wriggly fellas firing outrageous weaponry (including The Moose, Super Hippo and Little old lady guns) at each other, it soon becomes clear that the ability to construct buildings has changed the game dynamic dramatically. You see, the presence of these buildings makes it considerably more difficult to hit the opposing worms, something which is hardly helped by a nicely animated, but tricky to judge, firing system. Admittedly, you do get to destroy the structures (which is both satisfying and strategically important), but disappointingly the worms standing next to them are not adversely affected, nor, it seems, is the 3D landscape, which merely blackens under fire, replacing the huge craters of the original version. Now, intensify these frustrations with a bizarrely limited supply of decent weaponry in the first few levels and the fact that games tend to descend into rather tiresome wars of attrition between ill-judged bazooka and grenade attacks, it’s understandable that many will dismiss Worms Forts 3D after just a few minutes' play.

Nokia c3 Game my petstore
If you put all the 'casual' games titles – the ones featuring pets, babies, horses, squirrels, ants and bacteria – available for the king of casual, Nintendo's DS, back to back they'd stretch from Manchester city centre all the way to Pluto then back to Edinburgh. Three times.
Okay, so not strictly true. But you get the idea; there's a lot of them. And My Pet Store is exactly the sort of title you find a lot of on the console nowadays, except that it's on mobile phone.
Which isn't to say it's not welcome, obviously. We're as happy as the next person to while away a few hours stroking cats or dressing dogs up in Wellington boots and pink collars to make them look ridiculous.
My Pet Store gives you a bonus incentive for all this silliness, too, by enabling you to take in-game photos of your pet shop or individual pets and send them via text with a message to a friend. We can see this being pretty popular among girls of a certain age. Note: that's not girls of my own particular ancient age. I was tempted, but didn't actually send any pictures of cats with devil horns to my friends because they would have promptly deleted my number from their SIMs.
Photographing your pets aside, My Pet Store's overriding goal is to sell happy pets to customers. The happier the pets you sell, the more hearts you receive as payment. Hearts fill up a meter at the top of the screen and when this reaches certain points, new dressing up items become available for your animals, your shop expands or can be redecorated, and new pets become available to buy and sell. It's a well-paced game with plenty of rewards – moving from cat salesperson to hamster equivalent is surprisingly satisfying. Especially when you get to see the little critter running around a wheel so speedily it's like he's on a hot plate. On a hot plate while wearing a little elf hat.
Judging it on style and entertainment value alone, My Pet Store would do very well. It looks incredibly sweet, with well-animated animals frolicking with one another and a shop that can be transformed from a slightly barren pet prison to a multicoloured rainbow room filled to the brim with hearts, happiness and cute animals.
It's just when it comes to the gameplay that My Pet Store lacks something. The problem is that it not only quickly becomes very repetitive to look after each of your pets, but it's also not that challenging. Essentially, when your pet shop closes at the end of each day you care for your pets and buy in new ones to replace the ones that were purchased.
This just follows a very rigid routine, though. Buy cats, feed them, stroke them, buy them a present, clean up when you hear your phone make a dubious sound. Buy dogs, feed them, brush them, buy them a present, clean up when they make the same sound. The only bit that varies between pet species is the little mini-game you play to interact with them. For hamsters, you keep their wheel moving at the right speed by altering a meter. For parrots, you match the note they're making by selecting the same one as it scrolls past.
These games are perfectly playable the first few times but having to do it at the end of every day, sometimes two or three times in a row if you have several of that animal gets more tedious than poop scooping after a dog with the runs.
The overall game is very simple too – it's not tough to do well seeing as you don't have to open your shop until you're ready, so theoretically you should always be able to get maximum hearts for all of your animals. Hang onto one particular pet and look after it properly for days and you'll get extra hearts when you do sell it. There are also special awards to win for running a good shop.
We can't argue that some will enjoy this game purely for the satisfaction of building up a pretty shop and unlocking brand new, increasingly bizarre presents for their pets. All of this is done very well. But for those after more of a management style game, you won't find it here – My Pet Store puts cute first and gameplay second. If you just want to dress up puppies to then send their pictures to friends, though, that obviously shouldn't put you off.

There are also special awards to win for running a good shop.We can't argue that some will enjoy this game purely for the satisfaction of building up a pretty shop and unlocking brand new, increasingly bizarre presents for their pets. All of this is done very well. But for those after more of a management style game, you won't find it here – My Pet Store puts cute first and gameplay second. If you just want to dress up puppies to then send their pictures to friends, though, that obviously shouldn't put you off.
